Our Story

HuitlaCo Mushrooms is a family-owned and operated mushroom farm that specializes in growing organic mushrooms high in Vitamin D. Our passion for sustainable agriculture and healthy living led us to start this business in 2010. We believe that everyone should have access to fresh, healthy, and nutrient-dense food, and we are committed to making that a reality through our work. Our journey began with a small greenhouse in the backyard of our home. As we experimented with different varieties of mushrooms and growing techniques, we discovered the benefits of using leftover material from the mushroom production process to feed our worms. This not only helped us reduce waste but also created nutrient-rich soil that we could use to grow other crops. Today, we have expanded our operations to a 10-acre farm that produces over 500 pounds of mushrooms every week. We are proud to offer a wide variety of mushrooms, including shiitake, oyster, and lion's mane, as well as mushroom-based products such as powder and capsules. We also sell worm castings and vermicompost to help other farmers and gardeners enrich their soil and promote healthy plant growth.
